Welcome to Pan Lab.

Our lab's research focuses on artificial photosynthesis with particulate photocatalysts, specifically water splitting (H2O → H2 + 1/2O2) and hydrogen peroxide generation (H2O + 1/2O2 → H2O2) under light illumination. We are aiming to convert solar energy into clean chemical energy, crucial for achieving carbon neutrality and addressing the energy crisis.

Our Research

Our lab emphasizes the importance of clean chemical production through artificial photosynthesis and aim to develop sustainable green chemical production processes. Our research spans catalysis, semiconductor physics, electrochemistry, with a focus on the synthesis and improvement of materials. The material development is supported with advanced characterizations and numerical modeling (reaction simulations). Our mission is to achieve a sustainable and carbon-neutral future through harnessing solar energy for clean chemical production. We also involve research in an international collaboration with overseas labs to solve global energy challenges.
